Wanting to enter nursing, need advise!?
Ok, so, I want to start nursing school either next year or early 2009. What I wanted to know was should I go for my LVN and then do RN later. Or should I go to a trade school that is higher but offers both programs, and I would graduate in two years. Some say don't go for RN because LVN's do the same thing and its just more work. Others say, go for your RN and don't be an LVN. Also I'm looking into schools around CA but they all have waitlist and over 200 people applying or I could go to Ohio, where there is no waitlist and they offer both programs. What sounds more logical to you?In the long run, its better to do what you can to get your RN. Practical nurses are, sadly, becoming more and more marginalized these days unless you are interested in nursing home or sub-acute unit work.
